Kathie Blozan

Kathie Blozan's paintings are imaginative, based on strong design and careful observation. She is from a family of artists and has been painting for twenty five years. Her BA degree from the University of MD University College is in Family and Community Development. She has studied fine art with many notable teachers and at Montgomery College in Maryland and George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Juried memberships in the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Washington Water Color Association and Potomac Valley Watercolorists led to many opportunities to meet many fine artists and to show her work

in the Washington, DC area before she and her husband, Carl, moved to the mountains of North Carolina in 1994.

She is a teacher and supporter of the art community and has served on numerous boards and committees. She was instrumental in the establishment of Highlands "Art Walks" as well as many other projects. She was the chairwoman of the state-wide exhibit at the Bascom-Louise Gallery of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina Annual Juried Show in 1999 and her involvement continues in WSNC activities for painters living in the western region of North Carolina.

Kathie is represented by Summit One Gallery in Highlands, North Carolina.
